Yelp acts as the gatekeeper and you will need to provide them with a sufficient reason to remove the bad review. Sometimes, contacting Yelp may be the most efficient method to remove the review. Some customers return to Yelp to leave even more defamatory and negative reviews, making the situation even worse. Typically, with a little customer service, you may be able to satisfy the customer’s concerns and they might voluntarily remove the review before any of this is necessary.īut, if you are dealing with a particularly contentious customer reaching out to them could backfire. Do not respond directly to the review on Yelp, because that may draw more attention to the negative review. If you are familiar with the customer that posted the review, you may try giving them a call.
